Gaby Vargas was born in Lima, Peru in 1969.  
She has studied art in Lima, Peru, Madrid, Spain and New York City with Peter Golfinopoulos. She currently lives in Brooklyn and Andes, New York.
Gaby Vargas was the recipient of the 2017 Marylin Laurie Award.
